FAQ

Am I allowed to bring guests into the Club?

Yes, of course you can bring your guests into your Club. Please remember to sign them in at reception on arrival. There is no need to inform the Club beforehand unless you are inviting a large group of guests.

Yes, there is a room hire charge for booking meeting rooms. However, we do not apply a room hire charge for Members own personal, family events.

The discreet use of mobile phones and handheld devices is permitted in the Entrance Hall, Business Centre, Courtyard, Private meeting rooms, Bar and Bedrooms.
The silent use of mobile phones and handheld devices (text/emails) is permitted in the Dining Room and Members’ Reading Room but strictly no phone calls in these areas.

Smoking (to include e-cigarettes, cigars and pipes) is not permitted anywhere inside the Club. The Courtyard is the designated outside area for smoking.

The Club is open Monday to Sunday; however, it closes after Christmas Eve Lunch every year and re-opens in the New Year.

Yes, when you are presented with your bill, you may ask the server for it to be charged to your account as long as you have adequate spending levy to cover it.

The Club loves family occasions, so Members are welcome to celebrate their private event in their Club in one of our function rooms.

Dress code according to location, time, and type of service:

Dining Room
• Breakfast Monday to Friday: Smart casual or professional business attire. NO jacket required.
• Lunch Monday to Friday: Smart casual or professional business attire. NO jacket required.
• Dinner Monday to Thursday: Jacket required. Smart casual or professional business attire.

Bar, Snooker Rooms, Members’ Reading Room, Board Room, Business Pods, Courtyard, & Private Rooms
Smart casual or professional business attire. NO jacket required.

Weekend
From 16:00hrs on Friday until after breakfast on a Monday, smart casual attire is permitted throughout the entire Clubhouse.

Club events
The dress code will be advised in advance of the specific event, i.e., Black Tie, Rugby Event, Bar-b-q.

An exception to the dress code will be made in the following situations:
• members or guests who are checking in or out
• members or guests who are going for a jog or visiting a gym

Smart Casual for Ladies: Acceptable Attire
Chinos, smart trousers, and dark-wash denim jeans are acceptable but should be tailored and distress-free. All may be combined with a blazer or dress jacket. Avoid cotton T-shirts or tops with large-printed graphics or slogans. Smart designer sneakers are acceptable.

Smart Casual for Gentlemen: Acceptable Attire
Button-down shirts, collared shirts, polo shirts or roll-neck knitwear combined with a blazer, structured jacket, or sports coat. Chinos, dress pants, or slacks are acceptable, as are well-tailored, dark-wash jeans without visible signs of distress. Smart designer sneakers are acceptable.

Not allowed at any time:
Athletic wear, running shoes, sweatshirts, sportswear, open-toed walking/hiking sandals, hoodies, and shorts.  Dishevelled or unkept appearance of clothing or self.

Stephen’s Green Club, in association with Q-Park at the St. Stephens’ Green/ Royal College of Surgeons car parks, offer all members of the Club a special 50% discount rate on all car parking rates.

Business Papers are permitted in the Business Centre, Members’ Reading Room, Bar and private meeting rooms only.

The Dining Room is open for breakfast from 7.00am to 10.30am Monday to Sunday.
Lunch is served from 12.30pm to 14.30pm Monday – Friday, and in the evening for Dinner from 19.00 pm onwards, Monday to Saturday.

Any member can create a top up account for their Dining Levy. The Accounts Department or Dining Staff can assist you with this. Please note that the Club does not offer credit facilities. We accept cash, cheque or most credit cards.

The taking of photographs and videos in the Club is prohibited without the permission of the subject(s) and, in that circumstance, should be done discreetly.

If you would like to avail of a Reciprocal Club’s dining, accommodation or meeting facilities, please contact the Reciprocal Club directly to arrange a booking. The Reciprocal Club may then request a “Letter of Introduction” from us. Simply contact Reception  who will email you and the Reciprocal Club an introduction letter.

Members are encouraged to introduce new members. Please contact Helen in our Membership Department who will advise what membership categories are open for them to join.

Due to GDPR regulations we cannot reveal our members details to other members.

While it is not necessary to make a booking in advance for lunch or dinner we do recommend it so that we are expecting you.

The bar is open from 10.30am to 11.30pm Monday to Thursday. 10.30am to 12.30am Friday and Saturday and from 12.30pm – 11.00pm on Sunday.
