DESCRIPTION:On Bloomsday\, Sonaírí\, one of Ireland’s most exciting classical duos will present an immersive celebration inspired by the world of James Joyce to include a recital\, readings and an art exhibition. \nSonaírí’s recital will draw on the rich musical landscape that permeates Joyce’s writing \, from parlour songs and ballads to operatic arias that drift through kitchens\, pubs\, drawing rooms and the streets of Dublin. The programme features songs referenced throughout Joyce’s work\, including “The Marble Halls”\, “The Sally Gardens”\, “The Croppy Boy”\, “The Lass of Aughrim”\, and “The Holy City”\, alongside operatic favourites such as “O mio babbino caro”\, “Là ci darem la mano”\, and “M’apparì”. \nGuest actor Molly Hazzard joins Sonaírí with carefully chosen readings from Joyce’s texts. Before the recital\, guests are welcomed to a reception in the Card Room\, where a small exhibition from Natalie Forrester will be on display.
