DESCRIPTION:WSET LEVEL 1 AWARD IN WINE COURSE  \nCommencing in October\, the Club is also hosting Wine Classes for members in conjunction with The Wine & Spirit Education Trust.  WSET is an awarding body and registered charity devoted to the development and delivery of qualifications and courses in wines and spirits. \nIn a short space of time\, you’ll find yourself feeling much more confident tasting wine\, navigating a wine list\, buying bottles and pairing wine with food. \nThis course is suitable for those with little to no wine knowledge who wish to explore\, withconfidence\, the main styles of wine. Classes are given by wine expert and qualified WSET  educator Noel MacMahon from Febvre Wines. \nThe course consists of three 2.5 hour classes (6.00pm – 8.30pm) held in the Club followed by an exam on the last evening.  Upon successful completion\, you will receive a WSET  certificate. \nThe course costs € 280 per person which includes tasting glasses\, which you get to keep upon course completion.  It is open to Ordinary Members only and spaces are extremely limited. \nDates:\nWednesday\, 16th October |  Wednesday\, 30th October   |  Wednesday\, 6th November\nWednesday\, 13th November – EXAM ONLY \nContact sharon.walshe@stephensgreenclub.ie or 01 673 0205 to book your place  \n

DESCRIPTION:An enchanting evening of authentic Italian food and wine. \nBeautiful opera by Mezzo SopranoLois Kelleher celebrating some of Italy’s favourite arias. \nTickets cost € 100 per person and includes arrival reception\, three-course italian dinner with wine and captivating soprano performance \nBook now with Sharon at sharon.walshe@stephensgreenclub.ie  \n \nLois is a 25-year-old mezzo-soprano from Dublin. She began singing classically five years ago\, training under esteemed vocal coach and soprano Judith Mok. Her classical training has allowed her voice to lend itself to other genres and projects from jazz to Irish traditional music. \nSome of her most recent work includes singing on the soundtrack for the NBA- funded Irish short film Lecanvey Lakers and closing the show for Dublin-based jazz band Papa Romeo’s sold out Sugar Club gig. \nLois is in the process of recording her first solo project. She currently splits her time between Dublin and London where she works as a singer and visual artist. \nHer repertoire this evening celebrates some of Italian opera’s favourite arias\, ranging from the Baroque era through to the early Classical and Romantic periods.
